Clara's 1st Ballet Recital

My girlie was in the Sleeping Beauty. We were so proud of her!

Clara said the best part of the recital was getting to wear my makeup....

Edie was feeling a little left out so she had to jump in for a few photo's.....

It was a THREE hour recital!  It started at 7:00 and ended around 10:00.  John and I were exhausted.  (Were getting old) plus our Clara was only in about 2 minutes of the dance. But it was still a fun night out!  Afterwards- despite the late hour we stopped with Clara at a burger and Shake shack in town.  Thankfully we had left the little ones at home with a babysitter.  I can't believe how big my little girl is getting!  Were so proud of her :)

Please Vote for Our Edie Bean!

So I was online the other day and saw that Parents Magazine was taking photo's of kiddo's for September's magazine cover. So just for the heck of it I entered my kid's pics.  I wanted to enter the professional photo's we had done but it wouldn't allow it:(  So I entered some at home snapshots.  And my Bean here was chosen as a top 100 finalist! If she gets enough votes she will be a "Readers Choice Finalist" and We could potentially get a $250 giftcard to Children's clothing stores! If the editorial judges pick her from the finalists we would get a  free trip to NY to be on the cover of Parents.  Really I just want the gift card!  I promise I am not a stage mother.  But if you  feel like it you could vote for our Edie at:

Edie gets into mischief....

On Sunday we were getting ready to go to dinner at a friends house when Edie anounced she needed to go potty- so she headed into the upstairs bathroom- and locked the door behind her.  After going potty she discovered she couldn't un lock it and was trapped.   John crouched in front of the bathroom door upstairs for about 20 minutes trying to talk her through un locking the lock.  Apparently locking it is a breeze- but
un -locking it is impossible.

So we went downstairs and fished Clara up the laundry chute that leads into the upstairs bathroom.  Thankfully she is still quite light- but John had to be the one to lift her up.
I got a picture of her sandal as she completed the last leg of her journey.

She's free! (I had her pose next to the laundry chute:)
I've learned to disable the upstairs lock and that I'd like to paint the inside of our laundry chute.

Lelis Children

I know I am their mother, so I am genetically predisposed to think my own spawn are cute.
But sometimes I look at them and think I'm going to die cause they're SO darn adorable!!!
                                             And they're mine!!!  I'm a lucky gal :)

Clara was making some rather odd faces for the camera, I kept saying "just smile like you normally would sweetie" This is all we could get....

I happen to have an awesome friend who is an extremely talented photographer.  I took a trip down to SLC  (more pics to come) and got to hang out with said friend, and she took gorgeous photo's of my children. She's amazingly patient- and manages to make beautiful photo's appear even when my children (Edie!!) are being stinker pants.  Thank you Carlye Morgan!  Your awesome!!
